Tradition continues with the arrival of one of the most anticipated moments in the world of children’s and young adult literature. The 2017 Literary Classics International Book Awards have been announced. I want to thank Literary Classics for the incredible honor of including on the list, Ephemeral and Fleeting: The Oathtaker Series, Volume Three. I also want to extend a mighty CONGRATULATIONS to all of my fellow award-winning authors. It's my pleasure to share this exciting news with all of you. Please take a moment to check out the other amazing authors listed at the end of this post for more information about them and their incredible books. Note that I'll be adding to the information from time to time, so you'll want to check back here regularly.
![]() To add to the excitement, I'm announcing that I'll be speaking at the Literary Classics Writers Conference in connection with The Great American Book Festival & Writers’ Conference (GAB) to be held in Rapid City, SD, on September 1, 2017, when I head there to accept this latest award. My subject: information authors need to know to protect their work from infringement by others, and to protect themselves (from infringing on the works of others). Take a look at the fabulous cover--revealed here for the first time--for my latest work: Ignorance is Not Bliss: A Primer for Authors – Protect Your Work—and Yourself. (I'll be sure to keep you informed as to when the book will go "live.") If you're a writer, you'll want to be sure you pick up a copy. With it you'll learn about things like: how to choose strong and potentially protectable titles; what copyright protection is and how it works; what to do if someone infringes on your rights or claims you’ve infringed on theirs; how assignments and licenses work; who owns rights to the audio version of your book; the power of a DMCA notice; and so, SO much more! If you've not already submitted your application to join the GAB event, do so today! Find out more here. My sincerest thanks to my readers and their support. Thank you for stopping by!
